ultherapy vs the traditional facelift

This treatment is not an alternative for a facelift and the results are far more natural. We consider it to be an uplift not a facelift. It is a great therapy for anyone looking to prolong the need for a facelift and is looking for a fresh start. The results are a natural lift. The results with the traditional face lift are far less natural and less aggressive. Ultherapy may be used in combination with a variety of other treatments to achieve a refreshed rejuvenated countenance. BBL may be used in conjunction with Ultherapy to further the results and to add a smooth texture and color to the skin. Fillers, and botox may also be used based on the goal to be achieved.

Used in conjunction with BBL and Halo, Ultherapy will deliver natural results and prolonging and preserving a natural look. Ultherapy treats the deep foundational tissue a traditional facelift addresses. It has  unique properties which allow it to bypass superficial layers of tissue, unlike any other non-invasive treatment.

This treatment leaves no marks. A traditional facelift leaves scars and the “tuck and pull” effect. The collagen regeneration delivers realistic results without changing your natural look.

ultherapy the procedure

Ultrasound technology is a non-invasive procedure. Focused ultrasound works below the surface of the skin to boost collagen regeneration.

It takes two to three months to see results following the actual procedure. This is due to the fact that collagen regeneration takes up to 6 months.

The actual procedure takes between 30 to 90 minutes. This of course may vary depending on the area being treated.

Ultrasound imaging is being used, and the practitioner is able to see targeted areas during treatment and direct it specifically and accordingly.

Ultherapy vs Laser Treatments

Lasers work at the superficial integumentary layers while Ultherapy addresses the deep tissue. It uses sound energy while lasers use light energy. When used together these two can deliver a significant boost and renewal. Lasers are effective in treating surface skin layers while ultherapy is known to also lift skin.

Every laser is different as is every individual. At My Petite Medispa we thrive on achieving natural results while using minimally invasive procedures. Doctor Leoni and his staff accord careful analysis of each patients needs.

Each case is unlike any other. During your complimentary consultation, Dr. Leoni and his staff will be able to assess the area to be treated, and make the most appropriate treatment plan designed specifically for your needs.

We pride ourselves in being meticulous in our approach and treating each patient as unique as they are. We believe taking the time to assess and coordinate each treatment is as important as the actual treatment itself.

ultherapy side effects

1.There discomfort associated with the procedure. This therapy covers the reticular layer of the deep dermis and it can cause discomfort. The level of discomfort varies with each individual. There is a flickering sensation as the treatment is delivered. This can feel in certain areas like needles to the effected area. The most discomfort is felt around the jaw bone, the forehead, areas where bone mass is more prominent. Local anesthesia generally mitigates the level of discomfort associated with the treatment.

2. Following treatment you will experience some minor swelling and in some cases bruising. Icing the area may be a good measure for reducing such side effects. Those patients who are taking anticoagulants tend to bruise more. Swelling should subside within 72 hours.

3. Numbness has also been noted and in rare cases minor motor issues. These will subside within days following the procedure. Hypepigmentation and hypopigmentation is also very uncommon and these will subside in time. The risk of never injury is very uncommon when protocol is followed by the professional.

4. Results take time. Results are not evident immediately following the treatment. Results may be seen 2 to 3 to 6 months following the procedure. The first few days you will feel tender. The skin begins to soften and have an improved texture a few weeks after the procedure. This change in texture tends to give the more youthful appearance. Within a few months the skin begins to tighten and lift. About 6 months following Ultherapy the sagging and fine wrinkles become a thing of the past.

5. Ultherapy is not for everyone. You must check with your health care provider. Anyone with pronounced sagging and deep wrinkles may not be the ideal candidate. This treatment works well for individuals in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s as skin begins to sag and wrinkles are more evident.

6. Anyone with pacemaker or titanium implants is not a candidate for the Ultherapy Procedure.

ultherapy pain

Ultherapy pain varies with each individual. Some patients tolerate the procedure well while others may experience significant discomfort and/or pain. This pain is felt only as the energy is being delivered. This is sign a building collagen. Once the treatment stops the pain is gone. The sensation associated with this pain is a flicker like sensation going back and forth. On rare occasion burning like sensations may be felt similar to that of a laser hair removal treatment.

After the procedure some tenderness is present, especially around the jaw line area and the more bony structure. Some numbness may be felt for the next few days following the procedure. Some light bruising may be present as well.

At My Petite Medispa, we strive to make your experience as comfortable as possible. We apply a numbing cream prior to the treatment in order to minimize your discomfort.

How long does it take to see results?

It usually takes 2 to 3 months to see results. As old collagen is renewed new collagen is being built. This renewed collagen is more elastic. Lifting and toning will become evident at this time. As this process continues over the next 6 months you will see more apparent results. Your skin texture should feel and look rejuvenated. Areas below the neck and jawline should feel lifted and taut.

Ultherapy is the solution for long term care in order to avoid sagging and drooping that occurs over decades. You will notice the significant lift in before and after images best. The benefits and results occur naturally and gradually over time.
