Varicose Vein Laser Treatment

Best Spider Vein Removal-Varicose Vein Laser Treatment with Sciton Clear Scan

A highly focused beam of light, is used to treat varicose veins making varicose vein removal virtually painless. This is the best spider vein removal method to date, a new technologically advanced procedure done right in your physicians office. Varicose vein laser treatment is simple and done on the outside of your skin.

Laser heat is administered to the varicose vein or spider vein for that matter and it damages it, causing scar tissue to form. This scar tissue closes the vein. This results in blood supply loss  and the vein dies, and lastly it disappears.

Simple varicose vein laser treatment is done as mentioned above on the outside of the skin. It can treat spider veins and small varicose veins as well and it is the best spider vein removal treatment available to date. Generally more than one session is needed and treatments are prescribed by medical staff every 6 to 12 weeks.

What to expect after a varicose vein laser treatment?

Recovery post varicose vein laser treatment is generally short and you are likely to return to your normal daily activity following the procedure. After your varicose vein laser treatment it is recommended to wear compression stockings for about one week or so, depending on your physician's recommendations.

Does varicose vein laser treatment work?

Over the past 20 years this treatment has become safe and very effective. Statistically varicose vein laser treatment has a 96% closing rate.

What about that 4% rate? In the event the varicose vein laser treatment does not close a vein you may require an additional session or may opt for radio frequency treatment or sclerotherapy. In some cases surgery is required to remove varicose veins.

What are the risks involved with the varicose vein laser treatment?

Side effects of varicose vein laser treatment include: minor skin burns, discoloration, feeling of burning or prickling post recovery, and small or large clothing. These occurrences are rare however as the technology has become more and more effective in the past few years.

Clear Scan by Sciton is considered the best spider vein removal  treatment due to its robotic technology known to deliver precise and consistent results. It's powerful integrative cooling system is the number one choice to prevent any side effects such as overheating thus delivering flawless results. The ClearScan System may be used on all skin types and colors, and on areas, such as the face, the chest, and the legs.

ClearScan by Sciton works well on smaller and larger lesions and it's integrated cooling system offers patient safety, consistent results and optimal patient comfort during the procedure.

Varicose vein laser removal cost. How much does the exam and treatment cost?

Varicose vein laser removal cost is generally covered by your insurance thus making this a zero out of pocket expense.

patient report- as seen in CoolSculpting Allure Magazine

"I work out and eat well, but I had this ring of fat around my belly, like a life preserver, so I tried CoolSculpting. A vacuum-like contraption- around the size of am iPad mini-sucks in about two inches of your skin, which feels bizarre. The area starts to feel increasingly cold, but not painfully so...then you go numb. I didn't need an anesthetic or a painkiller. I did three areas-my love handles and the area below my belly button, each one took 45 minutes. The most uncomfortable part was sitting in the same position for three hours. Afterwards, my skin was a little red and felt cold for a while, but I went to dinner that night and the gym the next day. About a month later the life preserver was gone." Allison, 28

the Doctor's Note-CoolSculpting Allure Magazine, November, 2016

"The best candidate have fat that's "squeezy"-not the hard, beer-belly type. If you make it through the first six minutes of the cold, you'll be fine. That's when you go numb. Afterward, we use a massaging device on the area. As the skin comes back to life, it feel sort of good-like your hands warming back up after a snowball fight. You might have some bruising and light soreness, but you can go straight back to work and working out. It takes two to six weeks to start seeing results, and patients need more than one session

This takes 60 minutes, after which the tip is being removed and the area is being massaged for optimal success. It is that simple. You may resume to normal activities following the procedure. Some redness and puffiness is normal following the procedure. Frozen fat cells begin dying off and your body's natural processes rid of the dead fat cells naturally over a period of up to four months. Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction the New Non-Surgical Fat Removal Procedure

Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction, the New Non-Surgical Fat Removal Procedure

What is Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction?

Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction is the new and sought after non-surgical fat removal procedure, a laser aided liposuction that is minimally invasive, requiring no general anesthesia or downtime. Non-surgical fat removal is the buzz word these days as more and more men and women are seeking procedures that lend drastic results with minimal downtime. Dubbed as the lunch time procedure, smart-lipo laser liposuction, boasts results of a traditional liposuction, with one and key additional benefit: tighter skin, or improved laxity. This has been an issue for those with loose skin. Part B of the smart-lipo laser liposuction is performed by a laser which promotes collagen boost, thus leaving the skin smooth and tide.

Smart-Lipo laser liposuction employs Sciton's ProLipo PLUS technology to liquify or melt unwanted fat pockets. This dual technology uses wavelengths to melt unwanted fat, and another set to boost collagen production for skin that has laxity. This is technology that is not available with the traditional liposuction surgery, and many men and women appreciate, as skin laxity tends to change after the age of 35. The results with the traditional liposuction surgery leaves most with less than flattering results.

Sciton's ProLipo PLUS offeres a non-surgical fat removal option which gives flawless results, with tighter skin, minimal recovery time that is minimally invasive. Smart-lipo laser liposuction is performed under local anesthesia at your physician's office.

Tighter Skin. Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction is far superior!

ProLipo PLUS employs dual wavelength capability (1064 nm and 1319 nm), providing the choice to use each wavelength individually or to combine the benefits of both for optimal body sculpting results.

With up to 40 watts of power on 1064 nm and up to 40 watts on 1319 nm, the system provides flexibility in tailoring rapid, advanced treatments, making smart-lipo laser liposuction the number one choice for those looking to rid of difficult fat pockets.

A wide range of customizable treatment parameters enables body sculpting treatments that are personalized for each patient.

Minimal Recovery

There is no need for general anesthesia to be administered during the smart-lipo laser liposuction and thus the recovery is fast. Patients are ambulatory and able to resume to daily activities shortly.

Minimally Invasive

The fine tip used is delicate enough to use in tough to reach areas and the technology employed with smarl-lipo laser liposuction leaves little to no bruising.

Non-Surgical Fat Removal with Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction Technology

Science & Technology, The Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction Difference

With 40 watts of power at 1064 nm and 40 watts at 1319 nm, ProLipo PLUSeffectively liquefies unwanted fat and coagulates tissue resulting in a tighter, slimmer and more sculpted body.

Sciton’s ProLipo PLUS combines 1064 nm and 1319 nm wavelengths in one laser for optimal body sculpting results. The 1064 nm wavelength is chosen for constructing the fat channels and preparing the fat for lipolysis by breaking up the more vascular superficial fat. It is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin for better hemostasis and also generates thermal heating. The fat cell is ruptured and tumefaction takes place. It is an efficient wavelength for lipolysis.

The 1319 nm wavelength is used for its high absorption in water and its lower scattering in fat, so the majority of its thermal energy can be confined to the area just beyond the tip of the fiber. It is used to preferentially damage collagen in fibrous septae. This is the precursor to tissue retraction and observable improvement in skin laxity.

Body Areas That Can Be Treated With Smart-Lipo Laser Liposuction. Non-Surgical Fat Removal Made Easy For Those Tough To Reach Areas.

ProLipo PLUS is FDA cleared for laser-assisted lipolysis. It is often times used for treatment in patients that require finessed sculpting in difficult areas such as medial thighs, upper abdomen, periumbilical, submental area, and upper arms. These places have traditionally been troublesome for physicians and traditional liposuction, now they can be expertly addressed. ProLipo PLUS is also utilized as an adjunct to traditional liposuction as an efficient method for fat removal and produces observable improvement in skin laxity.

The following array of body areas can effectively be contoured with smart-lipo laser liposuction using ProLipoPLUS:

  • Flanks
  • Hips
  • Waist
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs

Permanent Hair Removal

Permanent hair removal has been the most sought after cosmetic procedure in the United States. Men and women turn to this procedure for various reasons. Permanent hair removal is convenient and the results leave clean, smooth skin. Permanent hair removal is cost effective for many. Waxing can be costly in the long run, not to mention inconvenient and painful.

To date we have several options when it comes to permanent hair removal. Electrolysis has been around for many years and as of late lasers have been the first option to achieve best results. The latest is broadband lighting, and it has been one of the most effective and painless of all the options for permanent hair removal.

With so many choices which one is best for you. Read below and find out more facts about permanent hair removal and the options available today.

Electrolysis has been around for long and it is an FDA approved method for hair removal.  It requires multiple sessions for bet results, however, permanent hair removal is not a 100% guarantee for everyone. With this method you will need anywhere from 15 to 30 sessions and it takes a considerable amount of time.

How does electrolysis work?

An electric current is applied with a very fine needle shaped electrode or metal probe into each hair follicle to destroy the root. There are three types of electrolysis: galvanic, thermolysis and blend.

Hair grows in various stages and the treated area must be in active growth stage for the treatment to be effective. At any given time about 30% of the hair is in active growth stage.

Electrolysis Pros:

electrolysis has been around for a long time and it has a great track record
electrolysis works on all skin types, as it does not target pigment, but the follicle itself

Electrolysis Cons:

bent hair follicles are difficult to target, as the case with hair misshaping from previous tweezing and waxing. This may also be the case with curly or wavy hair
multiple treatment are needed: between 15 to 30 treatment, and treatments take a long time as each follicle has to be treated individually.
skin can get discolored, especially if the treatment is performed incorrectly
electrolysis can be very costly
electrolysis is painful

Electrolysis Cost

The average 30 minutes electrolysis cost is $45. This can add up as each hair follicle is treated individually, the treatment can take a long time. This makes Electrolysis a costly permanent hair removal option.

Laser hair removal has been the most common and requested cosmetic procedure in the United States. Shaving, waxing, depilatories can be very time consuming and since the conceptions of laser hair removal,  we find more and more men and women flock to this permanent hair removal option.

How does Laser Hair Removal Work?

There are several laser hair removal options on the market today, however the technology basis is the same for all. Heat energy is delivered to the hair follicle, penetrating it to the root and killing it.

In comparison electrolysis , entails removing each hair follicle by applying an electric current to each follicle. Fine needles must be inserted in each follicle and this can be very painful.

Laser hair removal offers long term permanent hair removal results, it is less painful, less costly, it takes less sessions  and each session takes less time to perform.

Laser Hair Removal Pros:

less costly
less painful
less time
long term results

Laser Hair Removal Cons:

will not work on certain skin types
is not 100% effective/some hair will come back

Permanent Hair Reduction can be achieved by light based technology including Laser Hair Removal, or hair removal with Broad Band Light (BBL), or Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology. At My Petite Medispa, we utilize the state of the art Sciton BBL technology to achieve permanent hair removal.

How Does BBL/IPL Work to Achieve Permanent Hair Removal?

A broad band of light is used to target hair follicles in order that the root of the follicle may be killed. This treatment achieves long term permanent hair removal results. The broad band light targets the hair follicle without affecting the surrounding skin, leaving it intact while destroying the hair at the root. The purpose of the BBL hair removal treatment is to diminish unwanted hair while leaving surrounding tissue intact.

BBL hair removal works by emitting pulses of light into the intended hair follicles. The pulses of light are absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and is converted into heat. The heat generated loosens the hair and disrupts their growth.

How Does BBL/IPL Hair Removal differ from Laser Hair Removal?

BBL or IPL emits light in carefully timed pulses. Laser hair removal works by emitting a sudden burst of energy, thus making the treatment much more painful than BBL hair removal.

Does BBL/IPL Hair Removal Work?

Permanent hair removal with BBL has been proven to be very effective long term. However, no hair removal method is 100% effective. It is more accurate to call BBL hair removal: permanent hair reduction. Once the hair follicle is killed, it will no longer grow.

Does the Hair Come Back Once Treated With BBL Laser Hair Removal?

The hair follicles that are in active growth stage at the time of treatment with BBL hair removal are killed and will never return. Hair that is in active growth stage consists of 30% of all of the hair. This is the reason why multiple treatments are required. These treatments are scheduled specifically to target that active growth phase, until of the hair has been treated.

BBL Hair Removal Pros:

BBL is cost effective
it is fast
it requires far less sessions than other permanent hair removal options
it is far less painful than laser hair removal and electrolysis

BBL Hair Removal Cons:

BBL hair removal does not work on all skin tones and hair color, it is most effective on dark hair, less effective on blonde or baby hair follicles

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing can reduce acne scars, wrinkles, blemishes, pore size and melasma. It is also referred to as a laser peel. Laser skin resurfacing is a popular cosmetic procedure and it helps rejuvenate the skin, reduces sun damage and rends an overall glow to the complexion.

There are a variety of options and types of laser treatments and the latest technology has to offer is the Sciton Halo Laser. This is a unique laser as it offers a larger spectrum of range, unlike any other laser to date.

Sciton Halo Laser. Making the difference in Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing, unlike anything we have seen before, Sciton Halo offers the first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL)

Halo by Sciton offers ablative results with non-ablative downtime. It is what everyone has been waiting for. A Fractional Laser that can offer results equal to that of the more aggressive Laser treatments, in one treatment with very low downtime and discomfort comparatively.

What is Hybrid Fractional Laser?

HFL or Hybrid Fractional Laser is a laser that delivers specific non-ablative and ablative wavelengths almost simultaneously. Halo by Sciton hybridizes them. Now that is revolutionary. This means that we can customize a very specific treatment plan, using a broad range of depth, lending the optimal results in Laser Skin Resurfacing.

Halo by Sciton delivers non-ablative and ablative wavelengths.

What are non-ablative wavelengths?

Non-ablative wavelengths are tunable and are responsible for targeting epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions. These vary in depth between 200-700 microns.

What are ablative wavelengths?

Ablative wavelengths range from 0-100 microns and target the intraepidermal tissue.

Why should we choose to deliver two wavelengths simultaneously and how is that an added benefit in Laser skin resurfacing?

Non-Ablative Fractional Lasers have a safe profile and work for a variety of skin types. They offer visible results with no downtime. The tradeoff is: sometimes a series of treatments are required.
Ablative Fractional Lasers are more aggressive, work for all skin types and the downtime with these treatments is longer. Fewer treatments are required.
Halo by Scion combines these two technologies and allows the provider to customize specific parameters ideal for each individual patient.
In other words this is the latest in Laser Skin Resurfacing a hybrid of the best of both worlds. Halo (HFL) falls in between the two options, and it is tunable and flexible.
Halo by Sciton offers four variables that re highly tunable in depth, and coverage.

Is Halo Laser Skin Resurfacing safe?

Halo by Sciton, by far the safest Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment on the market. It has a series of control settings that make it so safe, in some cases it can be administered by a trained aesthetician. We are able to control the extent of heat, what portion of the epidermis to ablate, what portion of the dermis to treat non-ablatively.
Halo has Dynamic Thermal Optimization (DTO), meaning it continually measures the temperature of the skin and automatically changes energy density and pulse width to ensure the laser is always tuned to your skin.
Halo has Optical Navigation built in, this technology makes it possible to continually measure the speed the hand held device is moving relative to the skin, adjusting the scanning speed to render an even treatment.
The hand piece has integrated cooling, which keeps the skin cool and comfortable. It also has the ability to measure debris during ablation.

Why should you opt of Halo Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Halo by Sciton provides a great option for Skin Resurfacing, between BBL and Deep Skin Resurfacing. If you are someone who cannot take a lot of time off work, this treatment is ideal for you. If you are looking for the results the more aggressive laser treatments have to offer, with the perfect micropeel.

Halo by Sciton provides the best of both worlds: ablative fractional results with non-ablative downtime. Results can be achieved with fewer treatments or more treatments depending on your goals, and desires.

Halo is safe on all skin types. Halo repairs visible signs of aging and addresses a broader spectrum of skin issues in one treatment.

Laser Skin Resurfacing/Halo by Sciton works on:

fine lines
pore size
acne scars
age spots
solar elastosis

Leptin, the Weight Loss Assessment Connection

Weight loss assessment is such a complex topic, just as complex and our individuality. Recent studies refute the idea that diet and exercise are the answer to weight loss. Contrary to what we have been taught to believe,  diet and exercise alone are not the key players in weigh loss. Scientific research and discoveries have introduced the new key player: leptin.

Leptin is a hormone that regulates our brain, telling it weather we have enough fat stored in case of urgent starvation. Besides this, the new kid on the block, is responsible for other functions, such as: fertility, immunity, brain functions and others.

Leptin is the key hormone regulation our body energy balance with respect to how much we eat and how much fat our bodies need to store.

In a nutshell Leptin is....

a hormone that regulates the calories we eat and burn, as well as how much fat we carry on our bodies. Leptin is produced in the fat cells. This knowledge is key in the game of weigh loss assessment.

Leptin is suppose to tell the brain that we don't need to eat

Leptin is stored in fat cells and it is carried by the blood to the brain, in the hypothalamus, telling us how much to eat. Low levels of leptin tells the brain our body needs to store more fat, thus signaling a sense of hunger.

The mechanics at work is a negative feedback, and it is how many other systems in our bodies function.

Leptin resistance leads the body storing more fat

When there is a leptin resistance the brain is unaware that it has enough fat stored and it stores some more. This leads to obesity. This can be the case for instance with problems in nerve transmission caused by neurotoxins, to give a good example.

As a result, the brain signals the body to eat more or spend less energy, which results in overeating or laziness. Willpower in this case is rendered powerless.

Thus... Losing weight causes the brain to send signals to gain more, resulting in eating more and gaining the fat back, and this is important to consider when conducting a weight loss assessment

When we loose weight we loose fat and with that leptin. As the leptin levels decrease our body responds by gaining it back.

Known causes of Leptin resistance

Inflammation:  both in animals and humans inflammation causes leptin resistance.
Free Fatty Acids: elevated levels of free fatty acids increases fat metabolites, resulting in leptin resistance
The presence of high leptin: too much leptin has been found to cause leptin resistance

Reversing Leptin resistance:

The simplest means of knowing you have a leptin resistance is by looking in the mirror. A lot of fat surrounding the belly area is an almost sure indication.

The best way to reduce the issue is by reducing inflammation inducing foods.

avoiding processed foods
eating more fiber
getting plenty of sleep
reducing carbohydrate intake

eating more protein
